Jennifer Brotton, CPM

My midwifery journey began in 2019 when I attended my friend’s home birth unexpectedly. I later discovered that I actually come from a long line of midwives as it’s been in my family for generations.

The Lord led me to start my professional career in 2021 when I took a doula course through GEM (Global Education of the Midwife) and immediately started my midwifery education. I have apprenticed with several of the Kansas City midwives, ending my apprenticeship with Amber Walla at Sacred Song. I have had the privilege of serving over 200 families throughout my midwifery journey. I became a Certified Professional Midwife in May of 2026 and immediately caught my first baby the same day I passed the exam, praise the Lord! What an honor it is to follow in my grandmother and ancestors footsteps in serving families in the most sacred moments of their lives. I believe midwifery is a ministry that I have been called to do.

I married my Husband, Josh, in 2015 and we have 5 beautiful children: Brandon, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Isaac, and Maribel, which we also homeschool. Brandon and Benjamin were cesarean births, Elizabeth was VBA2C (vaginal birth after 2 cesareans) in the hospital. Isaac and Maribel were my Homebirth babies. We have two chocolate labs, Roxanne and Noah, and two cats, Trinity and Iris. Some hobbies I enjoy doing when I’m not catching babies are playing the Piano and Ukulele, watching football (Go Chiefs), and eating some of my favorite foods: breakfast and steak. Most of all I enjoy spending every free minute with my family.
