My journey to midwifery began in 2015 when I was invited to witness the birth of one of my dearest friend’s second baby. In that birth space I was able to watch birth unfold in the most beautiful way where she felt supported and in control of her choices; it was watching this dance unfold that I knew I wanted to be a part of making birth feel this sacred for other families. In 2017 I trained as a Birth Doula with DONA International and certified as a Birth and Bereavement Doula through Still Birthday.

During my time as a doula I had the privilege of supporting over 100 families and also met my future mentor and friend, Amber Walla, CPM. Serving families in both the hospital and home setting has allowed me to fully appreciate the immense benefits of homebirth, as well as the ability to navigate the hospital system well in the event that our clients need a higher level of medical care. I began my apprenticeship with Amber in January of 2021 and certified as a Certified Professional Midwife in 2023. It has been an honor and great joy to serve families at Sacred Song these last few years!

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Ryan, since 2006 and together we have 3 incredible kiddos; Ethan, Emma, and Collin. We also have a high energy pit-boxer pup, Bella, who is keeping us on our toes. For many years I enjoyed the opportunity to run the Knowing Moms group at our church, working to bring moms of all ages and stages together. Community and connection is at the core of what I love about midwifery; tying together my passions of serving mothers, creating space for connection and trust, and helping families to find confidence in their choices for their birth is the base of the care I strive to provide.
