My journey to midwifery began while I was in nursing school at the University of Kansas. I graduated from nursing school in 2014 and worked as a cardiac/critical care nurse until 2018. I began my midwifery training in 2015 at Thomas Jefferson University. While in midwifery school, I gave birth to our first son, Cadel, in 2015 and our second son, Henry, in 2019 at a freestanding birth center. I graduated with my Masters in the Science of Midwifery and became certified as a nurse-midwife in 2019. I worked as a midwife for a period of time at a birth center before joining Sacred Song in 2021. I became a CPM soon after joining Sacred Song. Our daughter, Sofia, was the first Cool kid to be born at home in 2022. I currently hold active licensure as a RN and am certified as a CPM.

I have been married to my husband, Dan, since 2012 and together we have two little boys, a little girl, and an American Eskimo dog, Cub. We love the outdoors, traveling, listening to music, entertaining in our home, and spending time with friends and family.

I am thrilled and honored to be part of the Sacred Song team and to serve women and families in the Kansas City area.

Erika is also a famous and award winning donut maker, winning both the 2022 and 2023 Hanukkah donut making contest.
